Sorry, Sorry!

Hi everyone,

sorry i haven't been posting lately! Since i probably won't be posting again until i'm at least in Chapter 3 or 4 in Bravely Default (almost done Chapter 2 as of right now - - - i should be further along but as said, i do love over levelling…)

As a treat, let me tell you briefly how things are going.

Firstly, i LOVE it.

I won't post a full review until later on, but i find everything perfect so far, except the knowledge that sometime in the future, i can't rely on being over-levelled to win easily against bosses.

(and yes, as of current, i am pretty much one-shotting all the bosses)

I have almost completely rebuilt Norende, to the point where the new weapons i find or buy in town are no longer of any use… (which isn't a bad thing…!)

What else?

Well, i won't reveal too much. It's been great fun so far though! can't put it down!

(although i do wish that cutscenes are a tiny bit shorter…)

speaking of, cutscenes are never an excuse to start talking! or to ask me to get up and do stuff!

And since i won't be posting until later on, here's a little tidbit -

go to Google, type in "the mirror lied," and play it.

it's for PC, not Mac, so i hope ya'll have a PC. it's great. it's short and sweet and utterly confusing. ;)

and kinda creepy as heck.

Yeah, i sound tired.

Sorry ya'll.

I'll be off now.

Enjoy~

Gymnastics, Gymnastics, and More Gymnastics!

It's Tueday again! and you know what that means, people!

Gymnastics time!

Just like old times, let me tell you what i wore today - a dark blue leo with a light blue, starry streak, black leggings, white t-shirt with blue design, and a bunch of stickers in my hair.

On the way to class, i kept falling asleep, and i thought, "i wasn't here last week, will it be awkward this day?"

anyway, we started out as usual, running.

i was winded to say the least! I mean, i DID just take the last week off, not to mention, i literally spent 8 days doing little more than lie in bed and surf the internet!

i won't delve too deep into what we did.

after running and stretching, we did the one thing that i absolutely do NOT ever want to do - box jumps.

we set up a row of boxes both tall and short and we hop on them, off them, over them, with one foot, squatting, leaping, running,

and of course, just my luck, i am exhausted, i twist my ankle one time, and face plant another…

our free time, as a result, shortened to only twenty-some minutes today, which is disappointing since i was actually feeling quite motivated, but anyway, i found my lovely friend and we head off to floor, and then bars, in which the teacher tries to get us to do glide swings, but my hands ache, you see!

plus, it's boring.

i go off onto the other bar which is less splintery, work on pullover, back hip circle, squat on, jump to high bar connection, and i am applauded by the dude coach (whom i adore very much, strangely)

later, i separate from the bars group and move to the track, setting up a crash mat in the foam pit, and i work on my aerials and my front tucks.

i started with aerials, just flinging them without preparation.

i do need to work on those, since they're getting a bit rusty. my head is a bit too close to the ground for comfort, but at no point am i tempted to put my hands down, although i get the feeling that i am doing something or another wrong, in the way my body twists, but..

i'll burn that bridge when i come to it.

then, i set for a front tuck (meaning, do a straight jump) and start working on those instead.

quite a few are successful, a handful landed me on my butt or overspan me into my face,

but while most landed me nicely on my feet, one thing i found is my massive jump before doing the actual flip.

maybe it's a habit from using springboards, i don't really know.

i also don't know if it is accepted in gymnastics, although when i took parkour lessons, they told me not to do that…

anyway, after that, we had to do conditioning, which was…

- twenty jumping jacks
- twenty military jumping jacks (in a squat)
- plank to push up position x10
- bicycles (for core strength)
- inverted push ups x10
- wide warm push ups x10
- normal push ups x10
- triangle hand push ups x10
- superman rocking x20
- v-sit to tuck and straddle x15

and then we stretched (i just lay there facedown on the ground)

and high five the coaches, and then off we go!

Psssst. i'll do a post on Friday instead of Saturday this one. Maybe there'll also be one on Sunday.

I told my mom today that i don't intend to play my new game until Friday.

she said, "why?"

i answered, "since i don't want to feel obligated to do anything else, feel guilty, or be interuppted. I'll wait until Friday, and Saturday… so that way, i can just curl up in bed and play for 12 hours straight."

…she gave me the evil eye…

but that aside, this is the reason there'll be no post on Saturday.

for Friday i'll talk about something random, and on Sunday, i'll give a quick review of the game ;)

how's that?

keep those views coming!

I just LOVE logging on and seeing my stats increasing! Love you all! MWA!

Bravely Default's Out! - Please, No More Conspiracies!

Actually it came out… yesterday.

I was gonna ask my Daddy to buy it for me since it's his day off and he could've nabbed it on his way to my house, but i slept in and i would've felt guilty to ask him to make a trip just for the sake of my own entertainment… Sooo…

Here i am, one day later, and hoping that it won't end with me wondering if everybody is conspiring against me.

I've actually already checked EB Games' website! it seems that within the area near my home, all of the stores have it in stock! Honestly, i would reserve one if i knew how. Maybe i'll get lucky this time! who knows?

'Cuz what i distinctly remember is that the last time i was truly aching with every part of my soul for a new game, was Fire Emblem Awakening. And wouldn't you know it? We had to run to like, six different locations, they were ALL sold out, until FINALLY i came across one in Future Shop!

I was like, 'oh, em, GEE.'

i don't want that happening again.

Frankly, although it'll make me sound like a spoiled, impatient, selfish little brat, i don't think i'd be able to stand it if i don't get it TODAY.

and yes, i'll do that again, this time stomping my foot, pouting, crossing my arms, and yelling, "TODAY!"

honestly, though, my parents (my mom actually) has been nothing but kind to me in this matter. (it's usually Daddy who's against me buying anything new, especially new electronics. he doesn't mind shoes or clothes or stuff… and i'd be grateful for that! but who needs more than 2 pairs of pants…? Especially since i wear uniform at school…anyway, i say go frugal on the clothes, and splurge on the electronics. that makes more sense, right? oh! and food! you can always splurge on food. and gymnastics.)

Anyway, my mom even offered to take me searchin' for my own copy once she gets off from work, even though she's apprehensive about letting me get one, because let's face it - i give into temptation pretty easily.

meaning, my eyes'll probably be poppin' outta my head the second i get it and i won't be putting it down for hours on end for weeks after.

(but i promise, i swear! i won't do that this time!)

well, anyway, this is just a quick update, and it probably makes me sound like a whiny, snot-nosed kid, but hey, i've been waiting forever for this game to be translated and brought to the Americas!

Also, i'm sorry for not posting a gymnastics post on Tuesday, i was sick, so i didn't go (not even to school!)

So… yeah.

If i get it, i'll try to post an entry tonight, giving my initial impressions of the game.

Honestly, though, i hope it doesn't end up like "4 Heroes of Light," in which the enemies level up WITH you.

THAT really threw me for a loop.

See, i LOVE overlevelling, and sometimes to massive degrees, so… yeah. that game didn't end too well for me. (and come on, one save slot? REALLY??)

okay.

i think i've spoken enough for today.

i'm honestly thinking that i sound like i am ranting to a diary - and that's not how blog entries are supposed to go, are they? Or maybe they are…

Anyway, i know that you all probably will never leave comments for me anyway (rolls eyes)

But i'll ask again in case some kind soul stumbles upon my humble little blog…

Leave comments! Tell me what games you want me to try! <3

…Although for the matter, i don't own any big consoles. So i can't play those games, although i do sorely want to. I watch playthroughs for those instead, since that's the next best thing. (pout)

anyway i'm off.

i just heard that a relative is visiting and stuff, so…

I'd better post this and eat my breakfast and be on my way.

Toodles! XD

~Ren~

EDIT: okay, so i didn't get it, it was sold out anywhere i tried to look (strangely, although the website said they were all in stock…)

needless to say, it was a huge disappointment for me, and i'm ashamed to say that yes, i did pout, and sulk, and maybe even cried a little, all while my dad stared at me with an "are you insane?" look on his face, cuz "it's just a game!"

And yeah, i know. it is. can't help the disappointment though. been waiting forever. (deep sigh) honestly, of all the locations… couldn't they just like… leave one copy? :((((

you'll get your review soon, readers. i promise that. if i can't get it by tomorrow i'll see if it's available on the eshop. i hate downloading stuff but i'll do it.

EDIT: still can't get it. it's like, sold out everywhere.

It's illogical and stupid of me, but i can't help sulking about it.  of course, which makes me feel bad, since daddy did everything he could for me, but sometimes maybe it's like, "the law of the universe" or something like that.

and yeah, i know, i'm probably gonna get a lot of disbelieving stares, like, 'what's the big deal about? it's a game, for goodness sake.' and yeah i guess it is. but i've been wanting it since it came out in JAPAN. that's a LONG time ago.

i'm probably not the only one anyway. so kudos to those that can rush on in and nab it the second it comes out. i respect that. but it doesn't make it any easier for me. (and yes, this probably makes me sound self centered, and no, i don't care)

EDIT: had a mini meltdown last night and finally decided that i'd order it online. (I actually wanted to drive to a remote location about 2 hours away since it'd actually be faster that way, but my parents wouldn't let me)

As idiotic as it makes me sound, my mom was ready to pay for express shipping to stop the crocodile tears, but i went with standard anyway, since it's free and the last time i chose it i actually got very, very lucky (three days, believe it or not! I was shocked and ecstatic)

Anyway, i think this'll be the last edit on this post, and i'm sorry if everything i say juxtaposes what i've done before, i don't want to appear bratty since i'm usually not, it's just that this was a super important issue to me (although logically everyone is thinking that i'm insane for regarding this as one of my higher priorities…)

That's about it, then! ciao~!

EDIT: okay, last edit, this time, i PROMISE. firstly, accidently read a spoiler… (bleach! i need bleach for my brain!! i want to forget this!!!) and secondly, i'll be prepared for when (if?) Bravely Second comes to North America. So yes, i'll be keeping an eye on the news and pre-order the second i can. no more tears, no more tantrums. i swear.

but for just a moment, i had to laugh at myself. I haven't even gotten Bravely Default yet, and i'm already waiting for its sequel? not to mention, when i tracked my order this morning and it said "closed" (meaning it is shipped) i sprang to my feet and did a little victory jig.

now, i only hope for it to get here in ten days or less. preferably less. preferably by thursday. then i can play on friday. and saturday. and half of sunday. >:3

EDIT: order was placed on Sunday night (not a business day). order was processed Monday afternoon. arrived Tuesday morning. It was standard shipping. I'M SO EXCITED!! <3<3<3<3<3<3

Around the World in Seventeen Years

I. LOVE. TRAVELLING.

That in itself should probably be fairly obvious, since i would think that most people also enjoy travelling.

I mean, sure, i don't "travel" as much as i "visit" since my travelling is all mostly just going to my rents' home country to see relatives, but when i DO travel (which is few and far between) it is FANTABULOUS. <3

And since me and my cousin were just talking about travelling today (for example, what we'd bring in a carry on, how to be the most comfortable on a plane, why airports are just so damn AWESOME, et al,) so i thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a post based on that today?

Firstly, though, let me state… i love airports.

I don't know why!

But there's just some aspect of it that makes it really enjoyable. Maybe it's because when you step into an airport, you're either about to embark on a great adventure, or you're about to go home.

I just adore airports. It's why i go to drop off family even when i'm not the one going to board the plane. Just catching a glimpse can brighten up my day <3

To be honest, i love airplanes too. I do adhere to the saying, "getting there's half the fun!"

A lot of times, planes can be REALLY boring. I mean, sure, when i'm at home in bed i just really want a whole free day with nothing to do, but when the chance is presented to be because i'm in an enclosed space jetting around in the air, the idea's suddenly not so appealing anymore.

(maybe because there's no internet and i am confined in an uncomfortable seat?!)

but despite that, i LOVE airplanes. though i admit, i only like take off, the first one and a half hours, the last one and a half hours, and touch down. that incredibly long stretch in between i can do without. despite that, i don't like short flights either, since it just feels so… RUSHED.

That aside, i can say that i haven't been to a lot of places. In fact, i think i've gone to very little places!

In terms of continents, i've been to only the Americas, Asia, and Europe.

Anyway, let's recount the major milestones, since my title is "around the world in seventeen years"!

**i would list all of the events but i can't really remember anyhow… yanno, i have the memory of a goldfish, hehe…**

---
1.5 yr = first international flight. (To Asia)… I really hope i didn't disturb the other passengers TOO much!

8 yr = California! first time i was not absolutely miserable on a plane, due to precautions taken to ensure minimal amounts of ear pain! First daytime flight.

15 yr = first time going to Europe; Germany shortly, and then France. first time not going on a direct flight! French schools are ENOURMOUS! but the cafeteria food is actually really amazing.

16 yr = Taiwan. spent majority of my time shopping or being antisocial. vowed to return and live there one day.
---

Naturally, these are milestones because they're flights, first of all, and they've all been 'firsts' of mine. The other events are clearly important as well, but have never been 'firsts' for me. >_<

---

ANNNNNNNDDDDD yeah i get the feeling that this is more of a memoir or me listing things off (or heck, bragging) and so maybe i really ought to end it here.

Honestly, though.

Travelling is a ton of fun.

I mean, yeah, jetlag is a huge pain in the arse, translating currencies is even worse, not speaking the language is like BAM! YOU'RE DEAD, but the experience you get in the end is completely worth it all.

Happy travelling!

and if you like travel, good for you! 'cuz you can expect some (useless) travel tips and travel related posts in the future! <3

If there's something else you'd like to see, drop me a comment! (c'mon. seriously. I don't even have ONE comment from ANY of you. i promise to write about whatever you suggest i write, so start commenting!)
